你們一些人還請求我做你們的上師等等。當然,我自己作為一個修行人,與別人分享佛法上的知識是在修布施。從這一點上講,是的,我要盡我所能來教授。但是,如果你是想找那種可以依賴的靈性人物,我不得不告訴你,我大概是最不可依靠的人之一。大多數時候你連我在哪兒都不知道。事實上,我的親信助手,他們知道的最晚也最少。不過,如果你覺得你已經成為了我的學生,那麼我也想告訴你,你想要去找多少個上師都可以。事實上,我會鼓勵你這麼做。實際上,現今還有一些很偉大的大師住世。他們有些甚至還相當年輕。例如在中國,你們可以仰賴諸如四川的堪布慈誠羅珠這樣的大師們。

就目前兩位具德上師——土登尼瑪仁波切和堪布慈誠羅珠——都在中國這件事來看,即足以說明中國與中國人民的福報是極其深厚的。現在,就要看中國的民眾是否能善用他們的福報而對自身有所助益。(宗薩欽哲仁波切為本書特別寫於2013/12/2)
3.如果藏地能有兩三位像堪布慈誠羅珠這樣的人才,佛祖暫時也可以休息。

我非常仰慕大堪布慈誠羅珠,他總是鼓勵他人不殺生,激勵僧人出關來積極服務眾生,……最重要的是,他懇求所有的僧人保持清淨,不要把傳法的活動變成令人笑話的戲劇,這些都是我仰慕他的理由……
我很高興能夠在這裡向大家介紹一位至少活生生的正面例子,這位人身導師一直默默的,很努力的在為激勵大家,尤其激勵我本人,做偉大的利生事業。 是的,堪布慈誠羅珠仁波切就是這樣一位言行一致、說到做到的精神導師。在這個價值混亂的時代,還能親見這樣一個活生生的典範,對我個人而言,這就是最大的幸福!(在2012年4月24日的行腳見聞錄)

宗薩欽哲仁波切開場序
——《具德上師》

事實上,我並沒有被邀請來做這件事情,是我自己申請來的。所以,我要在這裡謝謝主辦單位,給了我這個機會,可以來這裡講幾句話。
事實上,我不是做這件事的最佳人選。堪仁波切不需要任何人介紹,他自己就足以告訴大家他是誰。即使他需要有人來介紹,也不應該是像我這樣的怪人來介紹。因為,很多人會發現我與一些有“顏色”的人在一起,在一些有“顏色”的地方,穿著一些有“顏色”的衣服。
但是,我有一個很好的原因這樣做。這個原因是,在這個末法時期,佛陀的光輝有點暗淡了,佛法的重量不再被很多人感受到。我也知道,佛陀曾說:依法不依人。可是真正實證佛法,對我們一般人而言是看不見的。而文字上的佛法又太廣大、太深奧,對我們一般人而言,我們又太懶惰不想去接觸。雖然說“依法不依人”,依人有它的缺點,可是,我們人類還是有這樣的習性,我們尊敬一個有實際修行成就的人作為我們的典範。因此,上師、大師、心靈導師們都非常重要。而我們並不缺上師、轉世活佛、喇嘛,他們比我們用過的面紙還要多。在這個年代,即使一個十幾歲的小孩都有叫做尊貴的(HH)尊稱。真正持有佛法的人是非常稀有的,就像白天的星星一樣稀少,但真正持有佛法的極少數的人又不是很明亮地在閃爍。
佛陀說過:只有證悟的人才能判斷另外一個人是不是證悟。所以,我不能說哪一位是圓滿證悟的人。可是即使我們在這個時代,還是有興趣來研修佛法的。因此很自然的,傳播佛法的人就變得很重要。即便我個人的生活方式多彩多姿,而且有點可疑、怪怪的;但是對我而言,至少有一件好事是我可以宣稱的,至少我自己知道應該要擔心佛法的前途。我有足夠的理由,來擔心和關心佛法的前途。事實上,我們應該非常焦慮、非常緊繃。
當然,這都要歸功於我的上師們給予的加持,因為這些偉大的上師們花了非常多的時間和精力在擔憂佛法的未來。在我的上師的加持和指導下,我學到了不僅僅要擔憂自己的後院——藏傳佛教的前途,也要擔心如日本真言宗、斯里蘭卡上座部佛教等等的前途。雖然我不是常常這樣擔心,但我偶爾會有這樣的思考。同時,我也擔心沒有其他人在擔心。甚至有些喇嘛們已經白髮蒼蒼、滿臉皺紋,他們好像也不擔心。他們也許會擔心,但他們可能擔心自己的寺廟,頂多是擔心他們自己的傳承。
所以,我現在想要表達的是:當我知道這個地球上還有堪布慈誠羅珠仁波切的存在時,我感到有極大的希望。他的行動超過了他所說的話,他所做的事情就可充分表達。而且,諸位要知道,這句話是從我的嘴裡說出來的,意義很大。因為我沒有淨觀,我非常具有批判性,而且更重要的是我非常自傲。我必須說,我一直在觀察。我並沒有從堪布慈城羅珠這裡接受過任何教法;我試圖想去聽、去看大堪布的錄音帶或錄影帶,但最終放棄了,因為堪布的口音我聽不懂;我也翻過大堪布的一些書,但以上這些都不是真正的原因。
因為,我認為:他不只是一位上師,還是一位典範。我要表達的是:每一位老師自己都需要老師。大堪布慈誠羅珠,是多年受到一位最偉大的上師——晉美彭措法王所栽培的。諸位都知道,堪仁波切也是現在負責色達喇榮五明佛學院(一個佛學重鎮)的主持人之一。我對於色達喇榮五明佛學院的印象,並不是因為那裡有為數眾多的比丘、比丘尼,我觀察了他們做的事情以及所成就的事情。我也觀察,他們如何花錢以及錢花在哪裡。同時,我也觀察了這個機構,是不是只是產生一些腦袋空空的學者,還是真正的修行人。
在此,有這樣一位大堪布在我們面前,他不是某一位富裕、地位很高家庭的子嗣,他也不是某位很重要的喇嘛或很重要人物的親戚或侄子,他也沒有HH尊貴者的頭銜。我特別要指出的是:在華語世界裡,特別是像台灣、香港、新加坡等等,堪仁波切可以講華語為我們傳法,所以這是一個十分珍貴的事情。雖然,在西方佛教正在迅速地成長之中;但是在我此生中,我不認為,佛法在西方會變成一個佔有很大比例的宗教。即使是在佛陀的誕生地印度,佛法的傳播上也有很多的困難。
佛法在過往中華文明的發展中貢獻非常大;我相信,未來佛法在華人社會中仍將扮演十分重要的角色。所以,對於華語世界的人而言,是一個非常重要的機會——能夠和大堪布慈誠羅珠直接學習。
所以,我想請求大堪布仁波切,要好好照顧自己,要長壽!少吃一些牛油。
作個結語:我想要送一個禮物給堪仁波切,大家知道,我有個化名叫做Obi-Wan Kenobi (星際大戰中的角色)。今天我邀請堪仁波切來到台上,我請大家一起加入,來祈請:讓宇宙的力量與堪仁波切同在!

I would like to thank the directors not
only for creating this opportunity but also giving me the chance to speak a few
words.
Actually I am not the right person to do
this. Khenpo Tsultrim Lodro Rinpoche
needs no introduction. He speaks for
himself. Even if you need an
introduction, it should not be done by someone who is like me.
I am found wearing very colorful clothes, hang around with colorful
people in colorful places.
But I have requested to do this because I
have some good reasons. In this
degenerate time, the glory of the Buddha is dim. The weight of the Dharma is not felt. And I know that the Buddha said one should
not depend on the person but on the truth.
But the actual realization of the Dharma is invisible for most of
us. The Script of the Dharma is too vast
and deep and most of us are too lazy to comprehend and even pursue. Even though we know we should not rely on a
person, we human beings have the habit to look up to something concrete or
human as a role model. So teachers,
masters, spiritual leaders are very important.
And as for teachers, masters, lamas, we have no shortage. We have so many, much more than used
T-shirts. This is an age when teenagers
even have the name HH. Genuine upholder
of the Dharma is so rare like a star of the daylight. The few that we have are not shining.
As the Buddha said, only an enlightened
being can judge whether the other person is enlightened or not. So I cannot say really who is a perfect being
or not. But we do have interest in
Dharma practice – still we do even at this age – so naturally importance of the
expounder of the Dharma becomes important.
Even though as I said my lifestyle is colorful and often myself.
Probably one good thing that I can boast about is I do know that I
should worry about the survival of the Dharma.
There is a reason to be concerned, a reason to be worried. In fact we should be in panic.
Of course, this alone is the blessing of my
own masters who spent so much time and energy worrying about the survival of
the Dharma. Under their blessing and
guidance, I have learned not to just worry for my own backyard, Tibetan
Buddhism, but I have learned to worry about Shingon Buddhism in Japan and
Theravada Buddhism in Sri Lanka. It may
not be constant, but I do at times worry.
I also worry that there is nobody that worries. Even the lamas who are with gray hair and
wrinkled hair, they don’t seem to worry.
They may worry but they may worry only with their temples, or at best,
their own lineage.
So I like to express it gives me so much
hope for knowing that Khenpo Rinpoche exists on this earth, whose action has
spoken louder than his words. And
please, you should really make a big note about this. Coming from me, it means a lot, because I
have no perception, I am very critical, and moreover, I am very arrogant. But I would like to say I have been
observing. I have not received any
teaching from Khenpo Rinpoche. I did try
to listen to some recordings, but I gave up because his dialect is too strong
for me. I have flipped through some of
his books but these are not the real reasons.
I feel he is not just a teacher but he is
actually a model. And I would like to
express every teacher needs a teacher for himself. And Khenpo Rinpoche was groomed for years
under the tutelage of one of the greatest beings, Jigme Phunstok Rinpoche. As many of you know, the present Rinpoche is
also one of the undertaking khenpos, the administrative khenpo, of one of the
most important seats, Serthar Larung.
And here my impression of Serthar Larung is not because of so many monks
and nuns there. I have observed what
they do and what they have achieved. I
have also observed how they spend their money and where they spend their
money. I have also observed whether this
institute is only producing some empty-headed scholars or are they really
practicing practitioners.
Here I like to say we have a khenpo in
front of us who is not a son of some rich, high, prestigious family. He is not the cousin or brother of some very
important lama and he doesn’t have HH.
And I would like to single out especially for the Chinese-speaking world
such as Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore, etc. that Khenpo Rinpoche speaks your
language, which is such a precious thing.
In my lifetime, even though Buddhism is growing in the West, I don’t see
Buddhist Dharma taking a big percentage of America and Europe. Even the very birthplace of Buddhism in India
is suffering when it comes to the flourishing of Buddha Dharma.
Buddhism has contributed a lot to the
Chinese civilization in the past and I believe it still has a lot of role to
play in this society. So for the
Chinese-speaking world, it is such an opportunity for you to have a direct with
Rinpoche.
So I like to request Rinpoche to take care
of himself and to live long and to eat less butter.
To conclude this, I like to present
something to Khenpo Rinpoche. My alias
is Obi Wan Kenobi. And today I like to
......... And I would like everyone to join me "May the force be with
him".
Rinpoche's teaching is not going to be
translated into Tibetan, so I am going to leave.
